In August, interior design agency NoChintz set up a pop-up shop in the Triangle Shopping Centre, Manchester to showcase their latest venture, the NoChintz Agency.
NOCHINTZ POPS UP IN THE TRIANGLE
Taking over the former Adidas Originals Store, NoChintz designed the space to incorporate as much of the original building as possible, taking inspiration from its raw surroundings. The shop exhibited products from a host of hand-picked, up and coming designers including Barcelona based ABR (
www.abrproduction.com), eco-conscious Gas&Air (
www.gasandairstudios.co.uk) and Manchester’s own award-winning furniture designer, Peter Masters of Burnt Toast (
www.burnttoastdesign.co.uk).
NoChintz Agency recognises the need for new, fresh and emerging design and are passionate about promoting it. The Agency will be a place to showcase, promote and support this talent.
With their heart rooted firmly in the North they will focus primarily on North West designers, hand-picking just a few outside of the region who they believe to be doing good things.
Lucy Goddard, Director, NoChintz said: “We want to take this British design abroad and launch our collective on a European scale, bringing the best of European design back to the UK. It was great to see so many people coming to see the shop”.
Highlights included; Manchester born and bred, Peter Masters of Burnt Toast, simple yet striking prototype wooden tables. In contrast to Masters designs, ABR’s daring polypropylene chair, bearing a startling resemblance to the buttocks of Michelangelo’s David, raised a few eyebrows and smiles.
NoChintz are a team of creative thinkers and designers. Their Manchester based Studio offers design services across the full spectrum of residential, commercial and leisure sectors, creating interiors that their clients want to be part of.
They work to improve the environments where we Live, Work & Play, all with one common goal; making good design accessible to all.
