Guest Editor: Siobhan Hanley Mmmm Autumn… in my opinion, the year’s finest season. Not only do we get the liberation of finally giving up on the sun and get our cardigans out, it’s a great time to bring food a bit higher up on the agenda.
Personally I’m ready to make the switch from light, summery dishes to lovely, warming stews, squashes, pies and bakes, especially as the bikinis can now be packed away for a bit.
Thus, it’s lucky Manchester Food & Drink Festival is rolling into town for its 13th shindig this October (1-11th). Whatever your first love in food, we think you’ll find something in this year’s programme to get your teeth into - whether it be wine (Big Indie Wine Fest, 8-9th October), chocolate (Chocolate Fest, 2nd October), fine dining (amazing events at the likes of Harvey Nics and Lowry throughout), whisky (Whisky Tasting, 2nd October), chillies (Chilli Fair, 1st October) or beer (Real Ale Fest, 1-2nd October) - we hope we’ve got it covered.
This month’s WorkLife cover star, Andrew Nutter, has been a big supporter of the Festival from the get-go and has staged some truly spectacular events as part of it. He’s the original celebrity chef (making his first TV appearance back when he was just 16!), and so it was great to talk to him about what else he’s up to.
