A West Coast foundry is looking for a senior Production Manager to lead it to its next level of productivity & profitability. Excellent skills and experience in scheduling, Material Re- quirement Planning and Lean principles are required for the position. A B.S. in Industrial Management or Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 10 years in the foundry industry is preferred but comparable management experience and training will be considered. Plant Manager - Melting and Refining Operation:
Manage, plan, direct, and control the activities of a Low Alloy, Stainless and Nickel Alloy melt shop in the southeastern part of the US. Direct responsibility for meeting safety, pro- ductivity, quality, and internal customer goals as well as financial objectives. Responsible for hiring, training personnel, and establishing required policies and procedures.
Supervise hourly and salaried associates in charge make up, scrap loading, melting, metal refining and maintenance. Supervise crews to meet production, quality, ISO and continuous improvement goals.
Required Qualifications:
Proven leadership skills. Ability to handle multiple problems and make quick informed decisions. High degree of accountability with ability to effectively delegate responsibilities. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with other departments to achieve company objectives. Strong knowledge of stainless and high alloys a must. In depth understanding of software and tools used in the industry for tracking, managing, and marketing of alloys to the foundry industry. Must be able to relocate to the Southeast.
Preferred Qualifications: BS Degree
Melt shop experience to include charge make up, induction melting and refining experience.
