Sky Rocket topped off at Kennywood

US Mountain Creek, New Jersey

A NEW multi-million dollar roller coaster at Kennywood Park in Pennsylvania, US, has been topped off after the final 70ft section of track was put into place. Sky Rocket, which has been designed by Premier Rides,

boasts magnetic launch technology that allows the coaster to reach speeds of 80km/h within two seconds, propelling riders to a height of 95ft. A series of other features - including corkscrews, wave

turns and a barrel roll - also feature as part of the new coaster, as well as a 90-degree drop and a zero-gravity hill. Premier Rides president Jim Seay stated: “We are

extremely proud to reach this milestone and extra proud that we are providing an attraction that has generated hundreds of manufacturing and ironworker jobs right here in the US.” The historic Kennywood Park first opened in 1898 as a

trolley park for the Monongahela Street Railway Company. Along with Rye Playland Park in New York, it is one of only two amusement destinations listed in the US National Register of Historic Places.
