PARKLIFE Parklife A range of rides and interactive water play elements are

to be found in the park, the central feature of which is the wave pool, with a covered slide and giant slide offering more challenging experiences. An Action River winds its way around the park, while for younger children a children’s pool and slides are on offer. Paddleboats on the lake, fishing and jacuzzis are also available. A variety of food is provided at the Kanteena Putra,

ranging from fast food to local delicacies, while the Treasure Shop sells a range of souvenirs and gifts. Corporate and government department events, birthday parties, product launches and other occasions are also catered for at the park.

Wet World Pedas Hot Springs

The small town of Pedas in Negeri Sembilan has long been famous for its hot springs which have been rejuvenated with the opening of the waterpark. The cooled spring water is circulated throughout the

park, which is set in scenic hilly surroundings and offers a range of family entertainment. A Lazy River winds around the park, while the Kembar twin slides and the wave pool offer more fun. A children’s pool with slides and floats for rent entertains younger guests and there are also two open air common pools filled with hot water from the natural spring. The water in these pools is at a temperature of 35 to 46 degrees centigrade, while for a little more privacy private “bathtubs” are available. Away from the rides, there is a fast food outlet and

souvenir shop, along with a campsite next to the waterpark. The attractions at the Wet World parks were all

supplied by NBGS, with the most popular of those on offer being the Monsoon Buster uphill water coaster. All attractions and facilities are included in the admission price, with the exception of a rental charge for the tubes used on the Monsoon Buster.

All three parks are aimed at the same target market,

three years old to 55 years old, and attendances break down to 30 per cent children and 70 per cent adults, 90 per cent of whom are locals and 10 per cent “others.” The capacity of each park is approximately 4,000 guests

at any one time, with the minimum length of stay usually being three hours. As far as individual annual attendance figures are concerned, currently Wet World Shah Alam attracts 310,000 visitors, Wet World Batu Pahat 350,000 and Wet World Pedas 290,000, although these figures are “expected to increase in the coming months.” As far as future developments are concerned,

a SpongeBob theme is currently being introduced while further upgrades to rides and attractions will also include the introduction of the new Tornado ride from ProSlide.
