Air Transat Holidays has expanded
its winter programme to offer nine new hotels for skiers and boarders heading to Canada. The new hotels have been
introduced in Big White, Kicking Horse, Banff and Whistler and accessed via five non-stop flights a week to Western Canada throughout the winter season: twice-weekly from both Gatwick and Manchester to Calgary and weekly from Gatwick to Vancouver. A total of 11 ski resorts are featured,
with flights operated by Thomas Cook Airlines. Air Transat Holidays is also offering a
‘Ski As You Please Programme’ enabling skiers and boarders to ski with one lift pass at Revelstoke & Kicking Horse – which combines two of Canada’s most challenging ski resorts in one holiday. A seven-night skiing holiday in Banff/

2011 brochure was backed by an agents’ incentive, as bookings to the country hit record highs. Heidi Blades, general manager for
USA and Canada said: “Our bookings to America were up by 19 per cent in July compared to the same month last year and 27 per cent up for this financial year. We expect strong sales for the rest of the year.” Premier has expanded its products in
Las Vegas, Alabama and Florida, with over 6,000 hotels now available online and in-house. Blades added: “Agents should check
out our incredible money saving offers, including free nights, room upgrades and ‘kids eat free’. "Agents can also earn up to £50 in
vouchers and enhanced commission when booking accommodation online.”

NYC on course for record numbers
New York City is on track to achieve record-breaking tourism numbers in 2010. NYC and Company says that approximately 23.5 million visitors headed to the Big Apple in the first six months of the year, a 8.75 per cent increase over the same period in 2009. The city remains on course to host around 47.5 million by the close of the year, a 4.2 per cent increase over 2009, which would represent the best ever year for tourism. Broadway theatres sold more than six million tickets, up four per cent on 2009.
