HOLLYWOOD SIERRA KITCHENS

By Emma Sommers It has been said that the kitchen is the heart of the

home. With this in mind, Peter Grisdela and Gerry Bross established Hollywood Sierra Kitchens in the La Ciene- ga Design Quarter of Los Angeles in 2004. With more than 20 years of kitchen design experience, Grisdela be- lieves that a kitchen communicates a great deal about the people who live in and use it. He and Bross say it is essential in any design to get to know each client on a personal level and use that information accordingly. In addition to learning how the space will be used and

by whom, quality is a crucial piece of the puzzle, accord- ing to Grisdela and Bross. As such, the pair has gathered the highest quality craftspeople and manufacturers in the industry to provide clients with an expansive selec- tion of fine products. It is this dedication to creating functional, quality designs that has garnered Hollywood Sierra Kitchens clients from the Hollywood Hills to the Sierra Nevada mountains of Mammoth Lakes, Califor- nia, and beyond. Bross selected an eclectic mix of top picks from his

showroom’s manufacturers. Bross’ Top Picks

François & Co. Toscany Hood: Reminiscent of Italian

villas of the 19th century, the Toscany Hood “creates a fo- cal point for kitchens with an Old World flair,” remarks Bross. Handcrafted in limestone or Scagliola Stone, a lightweight stone material, the range hood is available in 10 finishes. François & Co., a favorite source for period range hoods, offers a variety of shelves, stacks and corbels to complement each hood they manufacture. Homeowner Carolyn Woo selected the Toscany Hood

for her Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles because of its gorgeous aesthetics. “It’s the crowning glory of the kitch- en,” exclaims Woo, who adds that the stone hood is more substantial and prettier than stainless steel, and is easier to clean than wood.
