Spa Installation
The men’s and women’s relaxation lounges are located next to the
wet lounges. Guests can relax in these rooms, featuring soft lighting and subdued colors, and enjoy assorted teas and other beverages from the refreshment cabinet. Feinberg chose an assortment of sofas and chairs along with leather ottomans and upholstered coffee tables for the lounges. The women’s lounge features black and white photog- raphy, while the men’s is styled with Art Deco paintings. Feinberg selected dark brown upholstery for some of the furnishings in the lounges to camouflage any dirt or oil stains. The larger than average treatment rooms were designed with a
neutral palette to complement any treatment from the Waldorf Im- périale body therapy to the 4-Hand Impériale massage. Wall covering from Maharam, a massage table by Guerlain and Ludo Lamp sconces combine to create a peaceful, relaxing environment. Each room is equipped with an iPod docking station so guests can listen to their preferred music during their treatment. Another detail Feinberg added was a decorative wood screen with a pale blue fabric hanging from the ceiling. This conceals the mandatory sprinkler heads and air vents, while allowing the water and air to flow through as needed. In addi- tion to individual treatment rooms, the spa has double treatment rooms for couples that have a shower area with tub and vanity, and a hydro- therapy suite with an attached bathtub for water treatments. With airy, sophisticated treatment rooms and elegant wet and dry relaxation areas, the Waldorf Astoria Spa by Guerlain indulges visi- tors with luxurious treatments using only Guerlain products in a first- class setting. One of only eight Guerlain spas in the world, this spa’s relaxed, upscale atmosphere is sure to put anyone in the right state of mind to be pampered.
