Family Boat Building August 21-22


RiversWest, together with the


Oregon Maritime Museum will host Portland’s first ever Family Boat Building at the annual River Fest weekend, at the downtown waterfront. The ideal family is one or two parents and kids about 8 to 12 years old. We expect this to be a lot of fun and the participating families can take their boat home with them. Bellevue Sail & Power Squadron Boating Classes


September 23: BSPS is offering the Public Boating Course. The classes will be held on Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 pm, and run for 9 weeks. September 25: America’s Boating Class, at 0800. This is an 8-hour class. September 13: Seamanship: Begins, 7:00-9:00 pm. for 8 weeks. September 21: Piloting: begins Tuesday, 7:00-9:00 pm for 10 weeks. Jr. Navigation: Please pre-register. Schooner Creek Boat Works September 25


It’s time to empty out your dock


box and your boat lockers and sign up for the Marine Swap Meet at Schooner Creek Boat Works in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, September 25th, from 11:00am-5:00pm. Reserve a space and bring your new or used marine gear, or just come and find that perfect treasure. The meet takes place in the boat yard at Schooner Creek, 3255 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland. There will be food vendors on hand, and you can also tour the Schooner Creek facility. Only $10 for a 10’x10’ display space. All proceeds benefit the Cascade Pacific Council Sea Scouts. It’s a great way to clean out your surplus marine supplies, or find something new. For more information or to reserve
