Step 9 In this next step, I masked off the guitar in order to protect it from any overspray. I then used a base of Opaque white to clean up the background and provide a nice surface for the next step. Using quilt batting and Magenta, I sprayed some clouds for the background. These were later accented with ComArt Bright Red and Transparent Orange. A kneaded eraser was used to pull out some of the highlights.


Step 10 In this final step, I removed the Frisket film on the guitar and sprayed a light coat of magenta over the clouded area on the guitar. These last two steps weren’t in the original reference, but I wanted to give my client something a little more personalized. And there you have it, a detailed ren- dering of a Fender Strat guitar on a clouded background. I hope that this was helpful, and thanks for reading.
