Following on from the success of last year’s Middle East Parking Symposium (MEPS), the organisers have moved venues in order to accommodate the growth and expected interest for this year’s show. Show director Davyd

Farrell said: ‘Due to the lack of space we actually had a waiting list last year, and were forced to

turn potential exhibitors away. I think that shows the interest there is in this market. ‘Our existing clients

also wanted bigger spaces in order to show more products, and a lot of them felt that the move to the Abu Dhabi National Expo Centre (ADNEC) from the Rotana Beach Hotel would be a good one.’ T is year’s show will

take place on the 10 - 12 October at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Running alongside

the event will be a series of seminars focusing on diff erent aspects of parking, and appealing to diff erent people. T e other major announcement and development for this year involves a strategic tie-up with the International Parking

Institute (IPI), which is based in the US and acts as a non-profi t making organisation for the parking industry. It is also the organiser of the worlds largest dedicated parking event. Farrell said: ‘We

have entered into quite a wide-reaching agreement with the IPI and we are hopeful that all parties involved will benefi t in numerous

International security solutions group G4S is entering the car parking sector for the fi rst time as an operator.

In a landmark move, the £5.9bn organisation will launch its car park management service in Denmark and then across Scandinavia. G4S has signed a strategic partnership with global car parking solutions provider Zeag.

Under the terms of the agreement, Zeag will provide all the parking equipment, management software and related peripherals, in addition to after-sales service and support, to all sites operated by the G4S group.

Frank Nielsen, key account manager at G4S, said: ‘Zeag’s equipment is installed across Copenhagen
