SPEED CAMERA
The latest addition to the Samsung professional security camera range is a 12x fully functional optical zoom internal speed dome offering full 360˚ continuous rotation.
The SCP-2120 can deliver high quality colour images at 580TV lines and 680TV lines monochrome images in low light conditions.
It comes equipped with a list of
features including eight motion detection zones, 12 privacy masking zones and a 14 language on-screen display menu. Noise reduction technology equips the SCP-2120 to eliminate image noise in low light conditions, without creating ghosting or blurring and with the additional benefi t of up to a 70 per cent reduction in bandwidth requirements or video storage space compared to standard cameras.
In addition to a 12x optical zoom, the SCP-2120 has a 16x digital zoom capability allowing a total of 192x magnifi cation to capture clear images of distant objects.
SENSE AND SENSITIVITY
Following the integration of the ONVIF specifi cations with all Dallmeier network cameras, the high defi nition cameras are now to follow suit. This includes the fi xed dome camera DDF4010HDV as well as the high defi nition PTZ series DOMERA DDZ4010. The full HDTV cameras by Dallmeier use a native HD sensor with a true resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. They are equipped with the tried and trusted Cam inPIX technology (image processing) and thus suitable for even the highest demands. The cameras are equipped with a 10x optical zoom and an additional 12x digital zoom. The image quality can be enhanced by means of numerous control functions such as AWB, AGC, BLC and slow shutter. The cameras have an integrated motion detection with selectable sensitivity. Simultaneous multi-streaming with independently adjustable resolutions, frame rates and bit rates of the individual streams is possible. The cameras are available in three variants: in-ceiling mount, surface mount and weather-proof housing.

The SCP-2120 can be remotely
controlled and coaxial control compatibility allows third party equipment to take control. A ‘scheduler’ function allows the pre-programming of up to six separate timed actions each day, reducing the workload of operators to perform functions such as alternating between a dome ‘tour’ during the night and a preset position during the day.

Videx Security has introduced a new range of Vandal Resistant VR 5000 Series video and audio apartment stations. These fl ush mount tough units have been constructed to do exactly what they say – keep vandals at bay in locations where there is risk of deliberate damage. FAAC has released its latest range of operators in 24V technology, making it easier for installers to comply with the relevant safety regulations. Notable additions to the 24V range include the second generation, hybrid powered S450, the S418 electro-mechanical swing gate operator and the FAAC patented C720 sliding gate gearmotor. FAAC also offer a new selection of control boards for 24V operators, such as the E124 featuring the latest in FAAC technologies. Following in the footsteps of the
pioneering S700 hybrid model, the S450 swing gate operator combines the advantages of hydraulic technology with the effi ciency of a 24V DC motor. Suitable for high frequency applications due to its continuous duty cycle, the S450 also boasts a high opening/closing speed. RIGHT ON TRACK
The Impro IXP220 access control system from BPT Security Systems has received a host of software upgrades making the system quicker and easier to use and adding valuable functionality. Two features have been added for
enhanced security for the end user. The fi rst of these is a tracker tool for monitoring up to 10 tag holders per site, so that when a tracked tag holder accesses a specifi ed location a popup message will notify the user. In addition to tracking, which comes
as standard, the IXP220 is available with an optional visual door control module. The optional ‘notifi cations’ module has also been designed for improved site management. Using the module, a notifi cation is broadcast of an end user specifi ed event taking place on the IXP220 software via SMS, email or Twitter. In addition, a pre-designed, dynamic report can be added to email notifi cations providing more detailed information, such as the tag holder’s name and mobile number, door locations and transaction details. Other reporting procedures on the IXP220 have been improved, most notably the web reports, which show graphs to represent information such as percentage of allowed transactions, doors, in transactions and out transactions.

QUIET MODE
Vicon’s 35x SurveyorVFT domes have been upgraded to deliver even higher quality video. All 35x SurveyorVFT domes, including
standard indoor and outdoor, impact- resistant and pressurised housing versions, now utilise progressive scan technology, which offers a higher quality video image than interlaced video with better vertical resolution and no visible fl icker. Two modes are offered; ‘normal’ for average to high-motion video and ‘high sensitive’, for low-motion video. Additional new features include digital
noise reduction to improve picture quality in low light environments by digitally sampling the video image and removing excessive noise that interferes with image clarity. When adjusting for white balance within the camera’s set-up menu, there is a new special mode that allows for further adjustment based on the lighting source. As fl uorescent and conventional lighting affect video differently, this special mode allows the users to capture video with the most visually pleasing white balance. In addition to manual focus, the new cameras offer two auto-focus settings. Fast auto-focus is preferable under most conditions but a slow auto-focus option is offered to better accommodate high- motion video.
