t has been said that Rockliffe Hall will redefine five star luxury – a bold claim indeed, especially when you consider the way in which five star luxury is currently defined by the hoi-polloi of the UK’s best hotels, including near neighbour, and one of the UK’s favourite hotels, Rudding Park in North Yorkshire.

Of course the development’s owner, Middlesbrough FC chairman, Steve Gibson is not a man to shy away from a challenge. And in the same way that he wowed everyone with big name signings like Juninho and Fabrizio Ravanelli when he first took over at the Riverside Stadium, so he is looking to make a similar impact at Rockliffe Hall with a Michelin starred chef, a golf professional who has previously tutored some of Hollywood’s finest and a management team that most hotels would fight over to have on board.

The first thing to be said about

Rockliffe Hall is that it is extremely impressive. It is set in vast grounds, amid breathtaking countryside on the banks of the River Tees and within the picturesque village of Hurworth. It features a five star hotel, championship golf course and one of the largest spas in the UK. And, as befits any destination focused on delivering luxury to its guests, it seems that no stone has been left unturned in the pursuit of personal pleasure.
