“Clean, Green Boating Festival” May 22
The Tacoma Liveaboard Assoc. and
Citizens for a Healthy Bay will co-host the 2nd Annual “Clean, Green Boating Festival” at Tacoma’s Foss Waterway Seaport on Saturday, May 22, from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Festival highlights include “How to” workshops and seminars for boaters; live demonstrations of new “green” marine products; Metro Parks Tacoma’s small craft safe handling demos; Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma’s Junior Laser Sailing classes; radio-controlled model heritage boats; City of Tacoma’s EnviroChallenger hands-on learning activities; and community stewardship projects. The “Clean, Green Boat ing
Scholarship Essay Contest,” will award a scholarship for a marine science expedition with Salish Sea Expeditions to an entire high school class, club or group. Open to high school students in Fife, Franklin Pierce, Peninsula, Puyallup, Tacoma, and Univ. Place Public, Private, and Home School Districts. Write and submit original essays (postmarked by April 30) on the topic of “A Healthy Puget Sound: What’s the Problem, and How Do We Change It?” A complete schedule of events can
