S
et in 10 acres of tropically landscaped gardens and overlooking one of the world’s top 5 beaches, it is perfect
for a relaxing holiday. Located in Watamu Marine National Park, the hotel is actively involved in projects which help improve the well-being of local communities and support the environment. To conserve these wonderful creatures they help the local conservation organisation Watamu Turtle Watch, who undertake education, research, community development and practical conservation to protect turtles.
Kipungani
Lamu
Virgin Holidays’ view
T
his is a true Robinson Crusoe experience! Beautifully rustic accommodation, shaded by palm trees, is set right beside
the ocean. Kipungani has a close relationship with the local community, supporting the local fishermen. It has also introduced ways of minimising its environmental impact, such as using solar water heating and planting indigenous trees to provide poles for future construction. Kipungani has recently taken on the services of a full-time cultural guide, taking visitors on day trips to the town’s historical attractions..
