1 Cut 18 1 ½” lengths of 16 gauge sterling silver dead soft
round wire. using round nose pliers shape each length into
a heart by curling each end around the thickest part of the
pliers end. Push the curls together to form the heart.
2 Cut a 20” length of sterling silver 16 gauge wire and wrap
around a circular mandrel, pencil, or a large knitting
needle. Wrap 23 times. Remove the coil that is created and
snip off each to create jumprings.
3 Cut a 4” length of 16 gauge wire. using round nose pliers
make a small loop on either end. Place the wire adjacent
(crosswise) on the same mandrel used for the jumprings.
Wrap each end around until the entire wire is formed into
a coil. Remove the coil and slightly pull on each end to
spread out the spring. Repeat, creating two coils.
4 Cut a 25” length of 20 gauge sterling silver wire and string
a 30mm aquamarine multi faceted briolette, positioning
it approximately 2” onto the wire. Bend both ends of the
wire above the briolette and wrap the shorter wire around
the longer one. Trim the excess short wire. using the
remaining wire create a wrapped loop. Continue wrapping
the wire down and around the top of the briolette. Wrap
approximately the last four inches a little loosely and
randomly, giving the design a slightly messy look.
5 Patina all silver pieces in liver of sulfur if desired.
6 Alternate connecting heart links and jumprings, until four
jumprings and three heart links have been connected into
a strand. Repeat.
7 Alternate connecting heart links and jumprings until five
jumprings and four heart links have been connected into
a strand. Repeat.
8 Cut a 7” length of 20 gauge wire and create a wrapped
loop. string a fancy jasper bead and create a wrapped loop.
Continue wrapping the wire around the top of the bead
and coil the wire down the bead and secure by wrapping
the wire around the loop at the bottom of the bead. Trim
excess wire. Repeat three more times.
9 Connect the jasper links, coils, heart links, and jumprings
in the pattern shown or as desired. Connect a lobster claw
clasp to the end of the design and attach the aquamarine
pendant to the center of the design as shown.
