The University runs two outdoor centres the SELSIDE CENTRE in the Yorkshire
Dales National Park and DALE HEAD in the Lake District National Park.
Available to students and staff groups to hire out, these centres are ideal for
outdoor pursuit activities and organising a trip away with friends.
Selside
Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, the Selside Centre is capable of
sleeping 23 people. An ideal base for activities such as walking, mountain biking,
paragliding and caving as well as a base to explore the area.
Dale Head
Located in the Southern Fells of the Lake District, Dale Head Centre can
accommodate up to 36 people. Fell walking, rock climbing and canoeing are just
some of the activities on offer in the area.
Both centres are currently being upgraded and changed with the intention of
making them zero footprint and accessible to all.
Bookings
Up-to-date availability and prices can be viewed on the website. Prices are from as
little as £150 for a weekend to hire the whole facility – that’s as little as £4.17 per
person for a weekend!! To book one of the Centres, complete a booking form which
can be downloaded from the website.
