develop your skills
through sport
Coach Education
The University of Leeds Coach Education programme
offers a wide range of sports coaching, officiating and
development award courses. Having a qualification
in either coaching or officiating not only raises your
knowledge of your sport but may also allow you to get part
time employment through the University or a local club.
Sports Volunteering/Community Sport
Boost your CV and develop your skills by becoming a
sports volunteer. We offer a range of sporting opportunities
for students and staff to volunteer within the local
community. Volunteers can take up posts that include
coaching, events organisation, stewarding and sports
administration to name a few.
Parkrun Leeds is a great opportunity to get involved in
sports volunteering, check page 16 for more details.
Modules in Sport
Are you passionate about sport?
What do you know about teaching and coaching?
Would you like to understand how we learn new skills?
Does the Olympic Games inspire you?
Why not do something different this year and choose a
module in sport.
Most of the modules are designated ‘Skills Electives’,
which means that the module can be taken by students at
any level, on any degree programme (subject to approval
by your parent department).
