(cont. from page 4)
recently donated all her materials to the Hamilton Museum. Bradford’s late husband, William, was one of the early key players in bringing electricity to the Valley.
Short is currently going through all the materials that the Museum lent him, scanning articles and photos so that they can be preserved for years to come. In addition to photographs, news clippings and official correspondence, the display also features some vintage electrical equipment.
Those who would like to see the display are welcome to drop by the Anza Electric Co-op during office hours Monday through Friday 9am- 4pm. As part of the United Nation’s designation of 2012 as the “Year of the Cooperative,” Short will be publishing historical articles in the High Country Journal throughout the year.
MEMBER MESSAGING SYSTEM SIGNUPS UNDERWAY! Signups have been coming in steadily for the AEC’s new member messaging
system.
“We’ve already had about 100 members sign on,” Short said. “Of course, we’d like to see every one who can get on the system.”
The messaging system can send those who sign up a text message, email, or a
recorded voice message to a mobile or land line telephone providing information on any major outage or event that affects the Co-op’s ability to provide safe and reliable electricity. While not applicable to individual service outages, customers can receive fast, up-to-date information on system-wide outages or those affecting large areas.
Customers may also receive conservation reminders during peak usage periods, and other informative updates. There is no additional service charge, except applicable texting rates. Choose one of three ways to sign up: 1. To receive text messages only, text the key word ANZA to short code 99000, OR
2. Sign up on line at
www.trumpia.com/onlineSignup/anzaelectric/signup , OR 3. Give the Co-op a call at (951) 763-4333 and ask them sign you up.
