South Coast Singers Ready for the Holidays T
he South Coast Singers (“SCS”) is a dynamic choral group made up of more than fifty talented singers from South Orange County. The group presents con-
certs twice yearly in June and December, as well as addi- tional special performances throughout the year. SCS performs a wide variety of music, including jazz,
swing, Broadway, classical, gospel and rock, as well as an inspirational patriotic repertoire. Since 2002 SCS has been under the musical leadership of Raymond P. Woods, a highly regarded choral director, educator and musician. The group’s pianist, Brian O’Neill, also joined up in 2002. “Community involvement is an ongoing goal of the
South Coast Singers as we seek to share our love of music with the public,” commented Jeffery Slamal, the group’s President. For the past seven years, SCS has sponsored a

New Owner/Name for Nail Spa
vocal competition for talented high school vocalists in South Orange County. The Stars of Tomorrow program pro- vides these students with a high quality performance op- portunity and a chance to win cash scholarships. Last year, over 40 students from a dozen high schools
participated in the competition, and scholarships totaling $4,500 were awarded to the six winners. Past winners have gone on to study at prestigious universities and conserva- tories, and some have performed with the Metropolitan Opera and at Carnegie Hall.
