Relay Runners
Photocopy the cards provided (you can
add more) so you have a set for each team.
How to play
• Teams of four each stand a short distance away from a table
where their cards are shuffled, spread out and laid out
face up
• Runner number 1 runs out and picks up any card and brings
it back to number 2. At the bottom of the card is a
word/concept from the specification (e.g. Agility).
• Number 2 has to run out to the table and find the card that
has the correct definition for agility at the top. They bring it
back to number three who now has a new word to find the
definition for. If they can’t find the correct card they can
bring back the original card for number 3 to try. This
continues until all cards have been collected.
• Which team can collect all the cards and lay out their cards
so they link up and make sense in the quickest order?
