Learn about your city, sign up for Citizens Academy


The City of Carlsbad is now accepting applications for its spring 2012 Citizens Academy. The free, seven-week course meets weekly starting March 15 from 5 to 8 p.m., except one daytime bus tour.


Residents will get an up-close look at how the city functions, including city planning, finances, police and fire, public works and cultural arts. Participants will have an opportunity to meet City Council members and city staff as well as get a behind-the-scenes tour of key city operations.
