The Library’s Genealogy Collection is one of the largest in Southern California and has a strong emphasis in 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries United States. The Genealogy Division of the Cole Library and the North San Diego County Genealogy Society (NSDCGS) co-sponsor a wide variety of programs for genealogists.

The Library’s Homebound Program ensures that homebound individuals have access to library materials delivered directly to their residences by caring volunteers. This free service is open to Carlsbad residents who are prevented by medical reasons from visiting the Library. Volunteers select books, audio books, CDs, and movies based on the patron’s requests.

Beginning and Refresher Genealogy Classes Cole Library Community Room Taught by Marianne Meth and Blythe Stokes. Whether you are just beginning your research or have hit a brick wall, you will learn techniques and approaches to genealogy research.
