to mount the PhaZZer Enforcer CEW. T is dual, Raptor–Enforcer setup gives both close- range and long-range less-lethal options. T is second less-lethal option makes the system one of the most versatile combination devices in the offi cer’s tactical tool box. T e PhaZZer Raptor comes with fully adjustable metallic sights. Our test rifl e had the optional factory holographic optic. T is optic features 10 adjustable brightness settings, adjustable red or green standard reticle, built-in acrylic front lens protector, and aluminum protective outer shell. T e circular standard crosshair is ideal for fast target acquisition and is ideal for CQB and low-light conditions. T e holographic optic is powered by two AA batteries, which are commonly available and easy to replace.
S THE PHAZZER RAPTOR USES A LOK-BOLT, WHICH SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF CHOPPED PROJECTILES.
S THE PHAZZER RAPTOR HAS A FULL QUAD ACCESSORY RAIL AND ALSO ACCEPTS THE PHAZZER ENFORCER CEW.
Detachable, Durable, Droppable Magazines T e Raptor has a detachable 20-round mag- azine. T e PhaZZer Raptor magazines are able to withstand abuse. Called the DMag (Droppable Magazine), they are lightweight, dependable, robust, and low-cost magazines. One of the problems with magazine-fed launchers is loose projectiles falling out or getting caught in the mechanism during tac- tical reloads. T e DMag has a retention de-
vice that holds the paintballs in the chamber when a magazine is removed.
Accessory Rails T e PhaZZer Raptor comes equipped with a number of attachment rails—over the action and on all four sides of the barrel. T e Picatinny quad-rail is designed for a variety of lights, la- sers, sights, optics and vertical foregrips. T e Picatinny adapter mounted on the lower Picatinny rail is specifi cally designed
Shooting Impressions T e PhaZZer Raptor does indeed replicate nearly every feature and function of the M4/AR-15 platform rifl es including trigger pull and trigger reset, balance and natural point of aim, as well as reloading and fi eld stripping procedures. T e Raptor is ergo- nomically identical to the M4, has accessory interchangeability with the M4, and has a rugged, all-environment construction. T e range of any impact munition is not determined by impact energy, but by the long-range accuracy. T e impact munition must be accurate enough not to become a fl ier into no-strike zones. We fi red 100 RAP4 Impact (round) projectiles from the Raptor at a variety of ranges. As a .68-caliber launcher, the PhaZZer Raptor is fully as ac- curate and as eff ective as the current options. It is easy to load, easy to fi re, easy to get hits. Everything works like it is supposed to. We got torso-size groups from 50 yards. T e PhaZZer Raptor uses standard take- down pins to open up the launcher for service and cleaning. T e rear takedown pin lets you remove the bolt and see all the way through the launcher and barrel in sec- onds. Clearing jams, projectile breaks, and oiling the launcher is very easy. T e front takedown pin makes it easy to remove the upper receiver. T is allows the quick option of changing between a riot control-oriented, long barrel with optics to a CQB-oriented, short barrel with open sights.
