FOCUS Tactical Training I AMTEC’s New Training Facility
Tactical and Force Training The kind of tactical training conducted is left up to the imaginations of AMTEC instructors and the instructors from agencies choosing to train at this facility. It can include select-fire rifle, sniper/ counter sniper, high-risk prisoner trans-
port, active shooter response, hostage rescue, crowd management techniques, armorer schools, less-lethal munitions, cell extraction, basic SWAT school, il- legal drug laboratories, weapons of mass destruction, tactical operations, force- on-force, breaching, and operator’s
tactical firearms. For confidential training sessions conducted by an agency’s own instruc- tors, the entire training center can be rented and locked down, leaving only one AMTEC instructor on station for safety protocol and to offer facility assis- tance as needed. Sometimes this type of training is needed by foreign units and federal agencies.

AMTEC Tactical Training Center and only needs to use certain sections of the facility, such as the 50-yard firearms range, the customized shoot house, or an area to conduct hostage rescue training, the agency can rent only what it needs. Even the classrooms were designed with tactical training purposes in mind. They have multiple lockers so each op- erator can stow their gear out of the way during classroom sessions. There are also multiple power outlets at the lockers to charge radio, cell phone, computer, and electronic needs. The back doors of the classrooms connect to an open bay area with a separate metal roll-up security door. This allows teams to drive their truck right up to the back of the class- room, and unload or lock down and stage equipment.
In addition to their own courses, AMTEC is a premier-level sponsor of the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA). The AMTEC training center hosts about a dozen different NTOA courses a year.
