T HPR MAKES A LINE OF AMMO SPECIFICALLY FOR SOUND- SUPPRESSED PISTOLS AND RIFLES. EMCON AMMO IS SLOWED DOWN TO SUBSONIC BUT ALSO CLEANED UP WITH LEAD-FREE PRIMERS.

and FMJ jacketed bullets, mostly from Hornady. T is includes the Hor- nady VMAX, Hornady InterLock, Hornady Softpoint, Hornady FMJ and Hornady Boat Tail Hollow Point (BTHP) Match. T e 223 Rem ammo includes the Sierra GameKing FMJ; the 308 Win features a Barnes Tipped TSX; and the 300 Blackout uses a Barnes TAC-TX bullet. HPR loads a few important 308 Win and 300 Blackout cartridges; however, their specialty is defi nitely 223 Rem. T ey have 18 diff erent loading for the 223 Rem from the 50-grain, varmint-oriented VMAX to the 75-grain BTHP Match. For patrol rifl e training and qualifying, you cannot beat the 62-grain FMJ in once-fi red cases. It is lower cost, factory ammo made with the same precision as all the other HPR ammo. After all, HPR means High Precision Long-Range.

Made in USA

HPR Ammo is made in Payson, Ariz. As much as possible, they use American loading components in all their cartridges. HPR loads stan- dard bullet weights to the normal velocities. T is is true “factory” ammo loaded to SAAMI (industry standard) pressures. Each round is individu- ally hand inspected before it is ready for shipment. HPR ammo is loaded in one of three cartridge cases. T e majority of the handgun and rifl e loads use new, HPR head-stamped brass cases. T e BlackOps ammo uses nickel-plated HPR cases. Nickel plating off ers better corrosion resistance and is easier than plain brass cases to extract from the chamber after fi ring. A number of 223 Rem loads use Factory Processed cartridge cases, which are once-fi red NATO cases, refurbished to 223 Rem specs. T is ammo is clearly identifi ed and in each load, exactly the same bullets are available in factory new brass.

T HPR MAKES 308 WIN AMMO BUT THEIR SPECIALTY IS DEFINITELY 223 REM AMMO. THEY LOAD IN BOTH NEW AND ONCE-FIRED MIL-SPEC CARTRIDGES.

Emissions Control

EMCON stands for Emissions Control, the way of not announcing your presence and identity to the world, along with the reduction of airborne environmental pollution. EMCON Suppressor-Specifi c Ammunition was developed in cooperation with SilencerCo. Suppressors present cer- tain advantages and have a legitimate tactical purpose. Suppressors have been around for decades, but ammunition has never really been specifi cally designed for them. Simply dropping the muzzle velocity below the speed of sound and labelling it “subsonic” does not make it optimized for suppressor use. T e dirty powders and lead primers used in some factory subsonic loads can accelerate

T THE HPR 223 REM AMMO CYCLED FLAWLESSLY THROUGH A VARIETY OF AR-15 PLATFORM PATROL RIFLES, LIKE THIS ONE FROM ROCK RIVER.

T THE HPR 380 AUTO WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE FROM THE NEW GLOCK 42. THE 100-GRAIN FMJ FED, CYCLED AND EXTRACTED PERFECTLY.
