MOAA Supports the Guard & Reserve

Legislation: MOAA fought for and won Guard and Re- serve coverage under the Post-9/11 GI Bill and is working with Congress to close loopholes regarding GI Bill credit for reservists on medical hold and applying GI Bill eligibil- ity, retirement credit, and medical benefits to reservists called up on 12304b orders.

Health care: MOAA fought successfully for TRICARE cov- erage for drilling and gray-area reserve retirees under the TRICARE Reserve Select and TRICARE Retired Reserve programs. Our sponsored insurance supplements under MEDIPLUS® work with both programs.

Family support: MOAA offers family-specific publications like Family Matters: A Personal Inventory for Peace of Mind and an interactive guide for military spouses at all career stages called Keeping a Career on the Move, available to Life and Premium members for download at www.moaa .org/publications or by calling MOAA’s Member Service Center (MSC), (800) 234-MOAA (6622). MOAA’s legislative team fought for and won Senate ap-

proval of a pilot program to improve health care continu- ity for National Guard and Reserve families. See MOAA’s Military Family Legislative Action Guide at www.moaa.org/ legisactionguide.
