use at home. For a child with an immature
brain, that’s a life-altering decision. And in many cases, it ends very tragi- cally. In Washington and Oregon, they can take your child away from you if you refuse to use the child’s preferred pronoun.
Your book urges people to join the fight to defend the traditional family. Our founding document says that
time and time again. It’s been very effective. What I hope to do is wake people
up to what’s going on. One of their tactics is to divide the population, and that’s what they’re doing. They’re dividing us on the basis of
race, age, income, gender, religion, political affiliation — you name it. They’re driving wedges and separat- ing the American people. We can’t be overcome militarily,
but we can be overcome if we divide ourselves.
Can we make America great again if we neglect to make the American family great again? That’s a very good question. We can
do a paint job. But we need to fix it from within. We need to fix the motor. And the fundamental building
blocks of a strong society are the families. That’s where the kids get their values from. That’s where kids learn there are other people in the world beside them, who have valu- able things to say, who have property, and have feelings. All of that comes from the fam-
ily. If you don’t have those things, you will find your values somewhere else. And, you know, family also gives you a history, and your history is the basis of your identity. Your identity, in turn, is the basis of your beliefs.
If you interrupt that chain, you
become like a leaf blowing in the wind — any wind that comes along carries you away. That’s what’s happening.
Who would you say is enemy No. 1 of the American family? All those who are pushing Marx-
ist ideology. There are forces in the world that very much want a one- world government. The biggest obsta- cle to that is the United States and our system, which really wouldn’t allow for that. And they can’t overcome that militarily. So, the only way they can really do
it is to break that culture down from the inside. And that’s been going on for a long time now.
In your book you spotlight paren- tal authority being usurped by the entertainment culture. Just try to imagine what it must be
like to be a little kid today, the things you’re hit with. The brain does not fully develop
until your mid- to late-20s. And yet those 10-, 11-, 12-, and 13-year-old kids are being asked to make deci- sions about their gender, in many cases without the knowledge of their parents. They’re often being encouraged
not to tell their parents, and to use different names in school than they
our rights come from our Creator, not from government. That gives us an advantage. We need to harken back to our founding principles, then look at our Constitution and recognize that our founders were amazing peo- ple. They studied every government that ever existed, extracted the good things, and left the bad things out. One of the things they noticed is
that no matter how lofty their ideas are in the beginning, all governments grow, they infiltrate, and they domi- nate. They wanted to give us a con- stitution that would keep that from happening. At the last constitutional conven-
tion, they were about to just throw their hands up and call it quits when 81-year-old Benjamin Franklin stood up and said, “Gentlemen, stop! Let’s get down on our knees and ask God for guidance.” They prayed, then stood up and put together the U.S. Constitution. When Franklin came out of Inde- pendence Hall he was asked, “What do we have here, a monarchy or republic?” And he famously replied, “A republic — if you can keep it.”
That’s the question we face right now. Can we keep it? We’ve kept it for 247 years. We’re as
close to losing it right now as we have ever been. And if we’re not going to lose it, it’s going to require courage. People have to be willing to stand up for what they believe in. And it is absolutely true that you cannot be the land of the free if you’re not the home of the brave.
