CVS TrevistaCam The new CVS TrevistaCam from Stemmer Imaging is a low-cost, self- contained four- megapixel smart camera system that has applications in automotive, print and packaging, test and measurement, and the pharmaceutical industry.

The system uses a 2.5D shape-from- shading process, which uses the surface shading of an object to collect information on its three-dimensional properties. Applications range from reading embossed codes on shiny or diffusely scattering surfaces, to testing for micron-level defects on demanding functional components. The new camera is an out-of-the-box solution that features an Adlink Neon four-megapixel smart camera and lens, preconfigured with either iNspect Express or Sherlock measurement software from Teledyne Dalsa, and is integrated into a domed Trevista illumination system. The system provides an effective surface inspection solution that enables fast, accurate and reliable measurements, while minimising the chances of false rejects. www.stemmer-imaging.co.uk

Wheel validation system Leoni Engineering Products and Services has introduced the second generation of its Leoni Wheel and Tire Validation System, which includes an improved operator interface and a side-mount escape mount mechanism. The turnkey system prevents mismatched wheel and tyre combinations, simplifies changeover and new-model training, and provides 3D and 2D surface analysis for key features. The system can perform multiple inspection tasks for both wheel and tyre, including wheel style, diameter, colour, and centre cap placement, as well as tyre tread pattern (2D or 3D), sidewall, diameter, tyre

Lenses

HF-5M five megapixel series Fujifilm Europe has upgraded its three megapixel HF-XA series to the five megapixel HF-5M series. The Fujinon HF-5M series consists of six high

performance lenses with fixed focal lengths between 6mm and 35mm. The lenses maintain their 3.45µm resolving power from the image centre to the corners, even when the aperture is wide open under low light conditions, as well as over changing working distances. This flat resolution enables flexible use of lenses in

applications with consistent image quality. The lens series has a small diameter measuring only 29.5mm, which supports the development of compact machine vision systems. Depending on the focal length, the applicable sensor sizes range from 2/3-inch for the short focal lengths up to 1-inch for the longer focal lengths. Furthermore, each lens has three holes for locking screws, meaning the iris and the focus ring can be adjusted for flexible angles. www.fujifilm.eu

width and height, D.O.T., and text checks. The system also can check balance ID mark alignment position; the orientation of multiple features, including the wheel, tyre, TPMS, logo, and others; the colour, style, and orientation of the centre cap; and gloss level, whether high, medium, or low-gloss finish.

The system is compatible with all industrial

Ethernet protocols and comes with full documentation and training. The system’s new front-end software accommodates all technician skill levels, making it possible to train technicians in 15 minutes or less. www.leoni.com
