ROCKY HORROR TURNS 50

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Richard O’Brien’s iconic musical The Rocky Horror Show at Cardiff’s New Thea- tre. The show holds the world record for the longest contin- uous run of a contemporary musical, with some 30 million people having witnessed Brad and fiancée Janet stumble upon the eccentric Dr Frank’n’Furt- er. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, expect provocative fun down to the last crumb. New Theatre, Cardiff, Mon 10-Sat 15 Apr. Tickets: £32.50-£52. Info: newtheatrecardiff. co.uk

HENRY NORMAL

Now best known for his work in television and film production, with his and Steve Coogan’s company Baby Cow behind Gavin & Stacey, Saxondale and various Alan Partridge vehi- cles, Henry Normal started off on the 1980s po- etry scene. Having retired from TV seven years ago, he’s rediscovered his yen for verse, and this month goes on tour performing it. The show, Collected Poems And Other Landfill, promises an hour and a half of undiluted Normality. Savoy Theatre, Monmouth, Sat 15 Apr. Tickets: £18. Info: monmouth-savoy.co.uk

DANNY BAKER

The latest UK-wide theatre tour by varyingly employable wideboy broadcaster Danny Baker is billed as the last in a trilogy, and if you’re not ask- ing “can tours really be described as trilogies?” then you might instead be wondering why it is titled The Sausage Sandwich Tour, which it is. It’s a reference to a longstanding ‘bit’ in Danny’s shows where he asks people if they have red or brown sauce on a sausage sandwich. Aside from that you can expect a rapid-fire selection of cel- eb/showbiz type anecdotes from his time in TV, radio, podcasting, journalism, washing powder adverts etc.

New Theatre, Cardiff, Sun 16 Apr Tickets: £32. Info: newtheatrecardiff.co.uk
