TOO MUCH WORLD AT ONCE Theatr Clwyd, Mold, Tue 11 Apr Tickets: £10. Info: theatrclwyd.com

The idea of the deep generational fissure on the matter of climate change, with millennials and younger having inherited a world poisoned beyond repair by their elders, is simplified of course, yet it resonates. It’s in the conceptual DNA of this play, written by Billie Collins and produced by Manchester theatre company Box Of Tricks. Its protagonist, a teenage boy named Noble, takes on the form of a bird on his 15th birthday – the better for travelling to Antarctica where his sister is stationed, investigating the exodus of its avian population. The action is metaphorical, surreal even at times, its setting apocalyptic – Too Much World At Once may be set in the future, but not as far as we might wish.
