Sat 7 May Tremor: Dave Pearce 2-10pm, £20. Trance classics with Dave Pearce, Big Al and residents. Kevin & Perry are on the poster. Why is it suddenly mandatory to have a Kevin & Perry theme for anything related to old-skool trance? As far as I’m concerned they were Oasis fans anyway.

BEN SIMS The Rockin’ Chair, Wrexham, Fri 28 Apr Tickets: £15. Info: therockinchair.co.uk

A sound that’s been bubbling under in Welsh clubs for a little while and is now pretty much everywhere is that of hard, high-BPM industrial techno associated with nights like Teletech. Seems the kids can’t get enough of it! If we’re talking its ancestry, meanwhile, it is very much worth mentioning Ben Sims, a London DJ on the scene since the 90s who was cranking out these thrillingly functional panelbeating bosh sets since before some of these newjacks were born. In Wrexham he’ll be joined in the DJ booth by Lisa Oakes, Cy Humphreys and Nick Jones.

Buskwacka, Definitive Rhythms, Danny Gould, Ed Kurno, John Kelly, Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan, Lighton Brookfield, Lisa Loud and Phil Gifford.
