Boutique West London post house, West Digital started with a management buyout of VMI Post in 2002 by husbands Peter Zacaroli & Darren Cock. A year later they snapped up the option to buy Reel Edit and were on the journey to becoming a complete picture and sound post facility. WD now occupies 5 floors across 4 connected buildings.
THE TESTIMONY OF A PRESIDENT
With 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room, filmmaker Adam Wishart opened a new door on the 2001 terror attacks by interviewing the people in charge in the US when the planes struck
Peter recalls “Back then I thought we’d get a bit bigger over time but we always wanted to remain small enough that we’d know everyone who came through the door.”
“The pleasure of running a post facility is to be part of so many fantastic productions, and also the opportunity to help people launch their careers” explains Peter, “we’re always excited to see new recruits turn into the stars of tomorrow.”
GM Paul Wilkes is very proud of the company culture, “We’re independent and dedicated to sustainability and supporting the development of creative, technical and client-facing talent. We have a diverse and inclusive environment, where people can feel happy, relaxed and at their creative best. I think we’re friendly, honest, positive and flexible, and that’s how we approach all projects”.
WD turned 20 years old this year, “Our teenage years are behind us”, says Darren, “and while we’re feeling nostalgic about the history of the company, we’re also really enjoying the present and excited about what lies ahead”.

Adam Wishart set out to make the definitive account not of what happened on 9/11, but how it felt to be part of the administration trying to respond at the point of crisis. And with persistence, the right contacts, and access to 1,000+ images of the day captured by the White House’s chief photographer – many previously unpublished – he delivered this in spades.
“The idea came about when I attended a BBC forum and Simon Young, the history commissioner, said he was keen to use the history slate to tell the history of the past 30 years through those who had been in the room at the time. On previous productions, I’d met some people who were part of the Bush administration I hoped could get me access,” he explains.
