Creator, writer and show runner Lisa McGee set about the third and final series of her hit comedy Derry Girls with unfettered creative freedom.
The show, which follows five teenagers in the 1990s growing up in Troubles-era Northern Ireland in Derry, quickly became a global hit after debuting in January 2018, mixing comedy, tragedy and drama, all the while endearing it to critics and audiences alike.
