HFRS has a legal responsibility to enforce fi re safety legislation and provides advice to businesses to help them with compliance.

Stefan is currently an instructor at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, having begun his career


as a fi refi ghter in the Swedish Air Force in 1986 (he is now a crew commander). Stefan has a bachelor’s degree in fi re safety engineering and a PhD from Lund University, where he is an associate professor. Involved since 1994 in experimental and theoretical investigations of fi refi ghting tactics, Stefan has written several books, articles and reports.
