The Hackitt Review Seminar: Understanding the outcomes, meeting the challenges

Last year’s Grenfell Tower fire brought widespread attention to dangerous weaknesses in social housing design, construction industry practice, product testing, fire legislation and related guidance. All of these issues impact some of the most vulnerable in society. Although Dame Judith Hackitt’s

interim Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety provided some indication of future direction, much independent work has been undertaken to assist the review team, including the ABI sponsored research into the suitability of existing cladding test regimes to deal with modern materials and construction standards. This one day seminar will take place on Monday 25 June at the Fire Service College, Moreton in Marsh, from 10am till 4pm. It will bring together sector leaders from the Building Regulations Advisory Committee, the Construction Products Association, the Fire Sector Federation and London Fire Brigade, together with FPA experts, who will provide interpretations of the final report’s implications. Non member tickets cost £195 + VAT, and members receive a 10% discount. Onsite accommodation is also available at a special rate of £60 + VAT for 24 June. Bookings can be made directly with the college. Please visit the FPA website to book your place, or book via email at training@thefpa.co.uk. The seminar programme is also available online.
