At this year’s FIREX, the FPA Infozone will offer a full programme of expert presentations on the latest sector challenges, providing advice and discussion on solutions and best practice

HE FPA Infozone at FIREX International 2018 will see a diverse series of industry specialists focus on topics including the Grenfell Tower fi re, the responsible person


and fi re risk assessors, third party accreditation and the true cost of sprinkler retrofitting. As with last year, attendees will be able to claim CPD hours allocated by the Institution of Fire Engineers for each session, and all seminar sessions are free to attend – just make sure you arrive early to claim a seat!


Expert perspectives


Nationally renowned fi re safety and property protection experts from the FPA, alongside


individuals from other organisations and associations, will give a range of presentations this year. FPA head of training John Briggs begins


our FPA expert programme, asking who is the responsible person (Day one, 11am). Technical director Dr Jim Glockling then gives the first of three daily updates on the post Grenfell world (Day one, 12pm). Dr Glockling will also return to discuss fire testing of facades, specifi cally referencing BS 8414 (Day one, 3pm). Wednesday will see managing director


of the FPA, Jonathan O’Neill, give his own post Grenfell update (Day two, 12pm), while head of training John Briggs will explore the maintenance of fi re systems later on (Day two, 3pm). Concluding that day’s programme, FPA special projects staff, George Edwardes and John Harbottle, will provide attendees with a presentation on research, development and testing of watermist systems (Day two, 3.30pm).


On our third and final day of talks, FPA principal consultant Howard Passey will give two different timed presentations – his first will be our third and final post Grenfell update (Day three, 12pm), while his second
