Management Changes at Trouw Nutrition GB


Trouw Nutrition GB, a Nutreco company which manufactures a wide range of animal nutrition products and is based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, has announced two major management changes. After 16 years as Managing Director of Frank Wright Ltd


and latterly Trouw Nutrition GB, Aled Edwards has moved to a new global role as Strategic Account Director. He is replaced as General Manager by Rob Binnekamp who moves from his previous role as EMEA Procurement Manager with Trouw Nutrition in the Netherlands.


Aled started his career with the company


as Sales Director in 1982, becoming Managing Director in 2002. During his time he oversaw the integration of the former BASF operations after the acquisition of the company in 2007 and a subsequent period of significant growth. In his new role he will drive the development of Strategic Account activities internationally.


Looff Joins Diamond V Europe … Diamond V recently welcomed Dr. Frank Looff, who has joined the company’s Europe team as Technical Sales Support Manager. In this new role, he will serve dairy


producers, veterinarians, nutritionists, and feed manufacturers, and help Diamond V develop the ruminant market in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Hungary. Dr. Looff was raised on a dairy farm in


northern Germany. He earned a business degree and worked five years in finance accounting


before returning to university at the University of Kiel in Germany, where he earned his BSc, MSc, and PhD in agricultural sciences and animal production. Prior to joining Diamond V, he worked as a ruminant nutritionist for Pioneer, developing the company’s differentiation strategy in both the German and French markets as well as providing technical and commercial support for the company’s 80-plus regional sales staff in Germany. Dr. Looff is fluent in German and English, and is conversational


in Danish.


… and Smith Returns Dr. Doug Smith is returning to Diamond V as Director, Europe Poultry Food Safety, operating out of The Netherlands. In his new role, he will be responsible


for development and implementation of food safety programs for poultry and egg producers, food companies, and retailers in Europe. His main focus will be working to reduce the risk of Campylobacter, Salmonella, and E. coli within production and processing systems, primarily


A trained industrial engineer, Rob Binnekamp joined Nutreco


in 2014, having previously been responsible for the strategic global sourcing of dairy ingredients with Danone. His career with Trouw Nutrition has been spent in procurement, firstly within the Business Unit Management Team for Europe, Middle East and Africa and more recently in a wider commercial role with responsibility to drive pricing competitiveness and delivery of high value projects. Talking about his appointment, he says:

Dr. Smith also has enjoyed a research and academic career, having held faculty positions at North Carolina State University and the University of Georgia, where he earned his PhD and MS in poultry science. He currently works at Clemson University in Extension Food Safety and is also an adjunct faculty member of the Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences Department. Dr. Smith has authored 100 refereed journal articles and three book chapters. He has written for more than 200 other publications.


Delphine Lacombe joins Delacon as Customer Technical Service Manager Ruminant Delacon appoints Delphine Lacombe, MSc as Customer Technical Service Manager Ruminant. She will support the team of Thierry Aubert, Species Leader Ruminants. In April Delphine Lacombe joined Delacon


as Customer Technical Service Manager Ruminant and completes the team of Thierry Aubert, Species Leader Ruminants. Her main


tasks are technical support for distributors and customers, execution, analysis and reporting of new trials for ruminants and the identification of market requirements for new products. Delphine Lacombe started in the business as nutritionist and sales


manager at a local feed mill in France. Already in her studies of animal science at Agrocampus Ouest in Rennes, she specialised in animal production and animal feeding. Lastly, Lacombe worked at a feed additive company in France as sales manager at a national level.
