As a result, cows make better, more efficient use of their total diet, which results in reduced feed costs and boosts milk yield, efficiency and quality as well as fertility and herd profitability. This is backed up by commercial studies on over 10,000 cows in 23 European trials showing an average increase in milk production of 1.5 kg/day, which yields a 3.5:1 return on investment for the farmer or 9:1 if fed for the first 100 days of lactation.
