Why attend Music Classes with your Babies and Toddlers?

Your child’s first sense is hearing. They can hear from the womb as early as  weeks into pregnancy, meaning your baby has been born with a love of music and sounds. It is important to develop this love and to use it to help growth emotionally, mentally and physically.

Music is a vehicle that paves the way for all children to develop. Research has shown that to help children’s brains grow, they should be immersed in environments that are emotionally and intellectually rich and stimulating. Early experiences shape the way that circuits are made in the brain and by using aural, social, physical and creative environments to support that learning, our children benefit enormously.

Children bond through sharing different learning experiences with their carers. Music can help to nurture this bond and provide an experience to be enjoyed together, encouraging social interaction. To develop socially and emotionally, babies will initially rely on engaging with their main carers, who are their role models, and research has shown a confident role model will help to instil confidence in a child. Music can help to bring out the confidence in both carers and babies!

Apart from providing a reason for getting out and about, research suggests that parents who persistently attended groups when their children were under the age of three were twice as likely to report having support from friends when their children were older. This social support has been credited with reducing rates of maternal depression and stress, and improving mother-infant attachment.

Some classes offer weekly sessions which will follow the EYFS, helping to develop your child’s social, physical and linguistic skills all through music. At Monkey Music, we offer curriculum based, age specific classes in Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead. lease get in touch to book your FREE FIRST CASS when you mention Babies on board!
