Sword & Trowel 2016: Issue 2 NEPALI LITERATURE & PASTORS’ CONFERENCE
Photos show participants at a confer- ence at Canaan Ministerial Training Centre (CMTC), Pokhara, Nepal in November 2016, during which 52 newly-recognised pastors were ordained at Canaan Baptist Church, principally to care for the more than 30 new churches planted in mountain areas following extensive earthquake
relief work in 2015 and 2016. The Tabernacle has recently spon-
sored the translation and printing of a substantial amount of literature for use among the many reformed Baptist churches throughout Nepal connected with Canaan Baptist Church, Pokhara. Also pictured is a quantity of How
to Seek and Find the Lord alongside a mini-press set up at CMTC for the pro- duction of supplementary short runs of literature. [See page 25 for more news from Nepal.]
[Pastor Samuel Rai of Canaan Baptist Church studied at the LRBS from 1992-3 and is supported by the Tabernacle’s Overseas Ministry Fund. The Fund also supports the main running costs of CMTC. See below for details.]
OVERSEAS MINISTRY FUND
Many of our readers have helped us support 20 overseas pastors, most of whom are the only teachers of the doctrines of grace in their region, and all of whom are fervent evangelists. Many also dispense compassionate aid such as the feeding of hungry children. The need for rudimentary buildings and other help grows. Readers moved to help may send gifts to: The Treasurer, Metropolitan Tabernacle, Elephant & Castle, London SE1 6SD. Please make cheques payable to ‘Metropolitan Tabernacle’, marked ‘Overseas Ministry Fund’ on reverse. Gift Aid forms will be sent on request. No deductions are made for
administration or ‘home expenses’, the fund being entirely deployed overseas. page 32 Nepali Literature & Pastors’ Conference
