Sword & Trowel 2016: Issue 2 ST LUCIA UPDATE

News from Pastor Peter Samuel, Patience Baptist Church, Anse-la-Raye, St Lucia, Windward Isles

Also an unusually large number of large trees have been uprooted due to the high winds and the very wet, unstable soil. Only this week we had a freak storm on Mon- day night, the wind was blowing at tropical storm strength. The road to our house was blocked with fallen trees. We had to use cutlasses to clear the road after the prayer meeting so

that our vehicle could pass. We are thankful

that we have only had occasional disruption of our services in Anse-la- Raye and that only a small amount of water has entered our church build- ing. Despite the weather we have had a good response to a Sunday School visitation week in the village and are averaging 65 children. We have teachers but not enough space. We have had quite a number of adult visitors lately. People who used to come to the church a few years be- fore have started coming back. Please pray that the Lord will use his Word to speak to their hearts. The radio programme continues to

do well and also the monthly broad- cast of the Sunday morning service. Many people are listening around the island and we continue to pray for fruit in their lives and for the op- portunity to invite them to visit us once we are located in Castries. My class at the secondary school near Castries is go- ing very well. I am
