Wayne Lawson and Tim White - at the 'pinnacle' of their careers. HIGH FLYERS
Some might wonder why access industry experts Tim White and Wayne Lawson started Pinnacle Platforms and launched a brand-new product range in the middle of a global pandemic. Jeff Schofield finds out…
I
n this piece we find that any perceived madness is misplaced and, with the market
strong and demand high, there is plenty of room for a manufacturer such as Sinoboom and a distributor such as Pinnacle Platforms. Indeed, the very fact this new enterprise offers the market an alternative option, providing further choice can only be good for hirers and their customers.
Many of you will recognise Tim White and Wayne Lawson, both of whom have spent their careers working at every level of the hire industry and access manufacturing sector. Companies such as Hewden, Lavendon, Riwal and JLG are just a few of those the pair has served over the past 25 years.
Sinoboom, for the last 13 years, has established itself as a major access OEM. Its products are widely used and can be found in more than 70 countries and on five continents. Based in China’s construction capital of Changsha, the manufacturer has earned a reputation for its manufacturing build quality, reliability and innovation.
From its European HQ in Holland, Sinoboom BV is headed by yet another familiar industry face, Tim Whiteman. Tim, as many readers will know, was CEO of access federation IPAF for 15 years. He is now the CEO of Sinoboom in Europe, and had this to say about the appointment of Pinnacle Platforms as the OEM’s exclusive distributor in Great Britain.
“The industry experience that the owners of Pinnacle Platforms bring to our operations will translate into concrete benefits for our customers across the UK. We are delighted that they have chosen to work with us after evaluating other potential partners. This is part of our strategy to become a major participant in the European market through our investment in people, infrastructure and partners.”
I caught up with Tim and Wayne at the Pinnacle Platforms headquarters in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, for an exclusive insight and interview. Here is what these seasoned professionals had to say about their exciting new venture.
First of all, I spoke with Pinnacle Platforms Managing Director Tim White.
“I am really pleased and confident that this is in fact the perfect time to launch Pinnacle Platforms. I am looking forward to offering plant hire and tool hire companies a new and exciting range of products that I believe will add value to their fleet and bottom line, whilst further improving customer satisfaction and loyalty”.
