John Wright Quality Conformance Coordinator “I’ve been here for six years next month. What I love most about my job is the
knowledge I’ve gained, and that I keep gaining. When I first started it was just a nine to five, but it’s become much than that and I decided to keep pushing myself – any qualification I’m offered, I take it. I look after quality control and I do a lot of the electrical testing. I enjoy the legal aspects of my work. I make sure the CE certificates are up to scratch and I put the suppliers through their paces!”

listening to any excuses for not paying! I’m joking, of course, as my approach is much more friendly. I prefer to get to know customers first, which is better than threatening to close their accounts. We have the usual suspects who pay slowly, but you get used to them. Otherwise, I find that a relaxed approach works best.”

for the spare parts department, but since Kevin Lever retired I’ve taken on buying for the whole group. It’s been a big step up because I only used to deal with single pallet deliveries. Now I need to think about containers coming in. I also have to look further into the future, examining data from previous years and looking for trends so that we can forecast more accurately. I still have to do my old job too, but it’s never dull as I’ve always got something to do.”
