Sheehan Group invest in wheel washing technology after advancing in stability
Tyre fitting service accross the UK Tyrefill service
THE SHEEHAN Group has installed an industrial wheel-washing facility at its advanced recycling plant in Oxfordshire. It has fi tted a £50,000 MobyDick Wheel Washing System at its aggregates recycling plant as part of its commitment to sustainability and the environment. The drive-through system effi ciently removes dirt, mud and debris from HGVs (heavy good vehicles), and uses water from a reservoir to ensure it is an environmentally friendly operation. Tara Sheehan, Finance Director at the Sheehan Group, said: “The wheel wash system is highly eff ective and ensures every lorry visiting our site leaves with clean wheels. “It is another signifi cant investment in infrastructure as part of our strategy to be as carbon neutral, sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.”

The Sheehan Group’s water treatment facility is used to wash construction and demolition waste, destined for landfi ll, turning it into reusable aggregate. In the past fi ve years The Sheehan Group, a construction and recycling company, has saved 500,000 tonnes of waste from UK landfi ll sites via the plant. Half of the recycled material is used in its own construction projects and the rest is sold to contractors. MobyDick is a global leader in wheel-washing technology and the system includes advanced spray technology along with a water recycling module. It is a cost-eff ective alternative to manually operated pressure washers. Tara added: “The service is for all HGV vehicles that visit our recycling plant and many visiting drivers from other companies have commented on how good it is and how grateful they are. “It saves drivers from doing it at the end of their shift and means that when HGVs leave our site they are free from debris, which has a really positive bearing on the local roads and communities.”
