Welsh fi rm tackles winter blues with new products
ONE of the UK’s providers of forklift attachments is helping customers prepare for one of the coldest winters in years. Newtown-based Contact Attachments is gearing up for what is set to be a hugely busy time of providing specialist winter products. These products include the Welsh company’s snow plough and telehandler attachments, to help its customers remain operational throughout the icy and snowy months ahead. Dave Manuel, Technical Sales Director at Contact Attachments, said: “Winter is fast approaching, and with parts of the country having seen snow already this year and the Met Offi ce promising the coldest winter in 10 years with lots of heavy snow fall, it’s vital companies consider snow management plans.” The company's main products include the Fixed Blade, which is permanently angled to move snow to one side, and the Adjustable Blade that allows users to change sweeping direction. In addition, it off ers a Spring-Loaded Blade which absorbs shock and minimises damage risk to the plough by considering hidden objects such as raised manhole covers. Contact Attachments also provide a ‘v-shaped’ pedestrian plough for smaller-scale applications, as well as telehandler snow ploughs, ideal for large and heavy-duty environments such as warehouse yards, car parks and roads. Dave added: “Heavy snow fall is becoming more of a threat each year, and with many people ill-prepared, it’s sadly all too common for businesses to come to a complete halt. “Having a snow plough attachment at the ready to remove risk factors that the colder conditions bring means companies can eliminate the worry and fi nancial pressures of not being able to function properly throughout the winter.”
