Screenpod In with the new...
BASED in the Rock, Co. Tyrone – a 14-mile drive from Dungannon’s centre – resides Screenpod Design & Manufacturing.
The company is known as the ‘new guys on the block’ – and although Screenpod may be new compared to the familiar collection of more established brands – the design and manufacture specialists are certainly not novices to the waste recycling industry.
A brief history
Screenpod’s origins came about in 2015 after a brainstorming session by Lead Designer Bill Martin and Sales Director Paul McGoldrick, who teamed up to design a jaw crusher for a customer. This meeting became the catalyst for the pair to set up Screenpod at a small offi ce in Cookstown. There, Bill, who has vast experience designing Windshifters, would pursue new and innovative projects.
However, this was early days for Screenpod, so Bill and Paul were limited to design-only projects as the company did not have a manufacturing facility – yet.
Bill said: “Within the waste recycling industry, it has always been an issue to draw light materials off of trommel fi nes. We wanted to tackle this issue, so we

started designing our AIRVAC range on the back of creating an industrial vacuum cleaner.”
Horsing around
Soon, the Cookstown offi ce would introduce its fi rst manufacturing base: an old horse stable that had to be converted.
Three years on, the company has moved to its current location and has grown sustainably in size. It now designs and manufactures all of its products within its state-of-the-art facility on Tullyodonnell Road.
In fact, Screenpod has seen such an increase in demand for its products that the only option going forward is to hire even more staff in order to increase production and take the company to the next stage.
Design Engineer, Lee Feathers said: “Demand has been phenomenal: for example, a fi rst revision of a Screenpod TRACKVAC 1.0 was snapped up by a company as far as Australia. The fi rst revision did not include the side conveyor or Windshifter drum.
“However, our second, updated versions of the TRACKVAC 1.0 (TRACKVAC 2.0) include all the trimmings, bells and
whistles. We do keep stock of our original (first) versions as cheaper alternatives, but we would recommend customers choose updated TRACKVACs as these versions provide all components for optimum efficiency.”
