Tailored weighing solutions at Weightron Bilanciai Ltd

WEIGHTRON Bilanciai Ltd, one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of weighbridges, industrial weighing equipment, process weighing systems and software, are exhibiting at RWM on stand 4H44-J33.

requirements. They cover all aspects of the waste industry from small processors right through to large waste plants. Weightron’s popular waste and recycling management solutions include: • Trade-approved pit and surface weighbridges for industrial applications

• The automated weighbridge software for additional control with its limitless fl exibility

The Chesterfi eld-based company specialise in the manufacture of vehicle radiation detection systems to the waste, recycling and material resources industries. With over 35 years’ experience, Weightron off er fl exible and tailored weighing solutions to suit individual client

• The automatic radiation detection systems, which are designed to rapidly detect any traces of radiation from orphan radioactive sources, weak artifi cial or natural radioactive, or contaminations entering and leaving sites

• The trade ‘itemised Waste Management system’ (iWM) designed to manage multi-waste streams for buildings and facilities. The system records the waste and recycling disposal of each tenant, and in turn accurately invoices them for their usage.

At RWM Weightron will be showcasing these key waste and recycling management solutions, to provide attendees with a real-life feel for the products. The Derbyshire Company will have a number of indicators, terminals and an iWM on display for live demonstrations of the Weightron’s leading weighing software. www.weightron.com

Wood Energy’s VORTEX System is an advanced thermal destruction technology

WOOD Energy Ltd will be exhibiting in order to launch the company’s new VORTEX small scale waste-to- energy system. The VORTEX system is a versatile and compact waste-to-energy system which results in phenomenal gate fee savings by disposing of waste locally without the need to transport RDF/SRF or other waste streams to out of town large scale waste- to-energy facilities. The combustion process provides ultra-low emissions lower than typical IED requirements.

The VORTEX produces substantial amounts of benefi cial waste heat, which is collected and utilised within the facility by generating space heating, heat for drying other materials, electricity, hot water, steam, chilled water, or a combination of all. The VORTEX system can dispose of 8,000 to 12,000 tonnes of waste per year depending upon calorific value of the proposed fuel. The design is robust, uncomplicated and capable of long- term cost-effective operation and be cascaded to dispose of larger amounts of waste if required. The combustion process is an instantaneous and complete destruction of materials making it cleaner than most other technologies. There are no ‘piles of waste’

in the system at any time and this allows the system to shut down in minutes.

Emissions

Emissions are at a minimum and are signifi cantly lower than typical IED limits. The CEMS system monitors – on a continual basis – the emissions and the results can be downloaded and submitted directly to the EA (Environmental Agency) or local authority for their records. Fuel Requirements (sub-heading) Fuel can be of any type providing it meets the minimum criteria for combustion, which must have a minimum calorifi c

value of 16mj/t (or 4700kwhrs/t), be less than 20% moisture content and have a particulate size of around 3mm. However, all the fuel processing system required is specifi ed and provided by Wood Energy Ltd and this includes; un- process fuel storage, Shredding Station, Pulveriser, Belt Dryer and conveyor of the now processed fuel material into the VORTEX system. As well as the VORTEX system, Wood Energy will also be showcasing the traditional WID compliant biomass boilers.
