SKIP CHICK: ANIA MOSIEWICZ GOWING AND PURSEY SKIP HIRE

TRAINED TO KILL ANIA IS THE SPEED FREAK WITH A SOFT SIDE

stayed. Say cześć! (that’s Polish for ‘hello’, of course) to this month’s Skip Chick,

S Ania Mosiewicz.

Hi Ania, tell us a bit about yourself. I’m 25 years old and I joined Gowing & Pursey Skip Hire in 2012. I’m now the Sales Team Co-ordinator. And what does that involve? I manage the sales team, but in the past my role has also included monitoring the weighbridge and assisting the transport manager. What’s the best bit about your job? Weekends off ! Just kidding – I would probably say our wonderful customers and the team I work with - it’s really a family atmosphere at our offi ce which is lovely. Almost forgot – free lunches every Friday. We’ll be around every Friday from now on! What bits could you live without? Traffi c and other issues out on the roads, which causes diffi culties for our lorry drivers. Oh, and Mondays. Not our favourite day either. Any memorable moments at work? Once a skip came in containing fake money. Everyone thought it was their lucky day! Bet they did! What do you like to do when work is over? I enjoy Krav Maga (military self-defence) training and going out with my friends. I also like good books. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? I came from Poland to England at 18 years old for a summer holiday, and I never went back. I’ve also done three bungee jumps. We’re delighted you decided to stay in this country. What’s your idea of a

romantic night out? I’m not very romantic – it drives my boyfriend crazy! – but I do enjoy going out with him at night on his motorbike. There’s nothing better than seeing the lights of central London with fl ies on your visor. That sounds… err... lovely. Apart from the ability to see through a fl y splattered visor, what would your superpower be? I would love to be able to teleport. I would also love to be able to speak all languages. That way I could make friends and do business all over the world. We fi nd pointing and just saying ‘beer’ works perfectly well when we’re abroad. How about your ‘theme tune’? Candy, by Quebonafi de. The lyrics are all about understanding each other in a relationship and that means a lot to me. Aw, you softy! Shock us with a fascinating fact. This year I took ‘New Year New Me’ to a whole new level - I gave up sugar, and I gave up my marriage!

Sugar is one of our five a day! Life would not be worth living without it… Now, sum yourself up in three words. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – especially with any spreadsheets I do. Unlike our approach to spreadsheets which is more Slap Dash Done. How about a joke? French man, Swiss man, English man and a Polish man are high up on a viewpoint. The French man throws off a baguette because his country has so many of them he doesn’t need any more. The Swiss man throws away a watch as his country has so many watches. The Polish man takes one look at the English man and says ‘Don’t even think about it!’ Glad you told that one and not us. Any fashion disasters? Me and my brother when we were younger! Look at my pictures… To be fair, we’ve seen worse! What’s your speciality dish? My speciality is assisting my boyfriend whilst he cooks the dinner. We like your style. Say you were queen, what law would you introduce? High taxes for companies who have registered overseas, in support of local businesses. I would also ask for more Bank Holiday weekends. Ania for Queen! Ever met a celebrity? Apparently, I’ve walked past one of the Pussycat Dolls in a shopping centre – but I had no idea who she was! None of us do, really. Are you a social media girl, or social down the pub? In the pub! Nothing beats conversation! Finally, fi ngers crossed you win the Lottery. What’s on the shopping list? Lots of houses & fl ats! Plus, some nice cars for my family members. Let’s hope your wishes all come true! Thanks Ania – you’ve brightened up our day and been an ace Skip Chick.
