n THIS month’s nostalgia item is a real throwback to the days of flared trousers and big hair. John Clowes (left), Sales Director of Jack Allen (Motor Bodies) Ltd is alongside Tony Sullings, a company Rep who later became Sales Manager. To their left is a Dodge 500 Series 6x4 24 tonne 25 yard3 Jack Allen Big Bite industrial REL, fitted with the mark one series skip lifting arms. In the background is a Leyland Cydesdale 4x2 16 tonne 19.5 yard3 Jack Allen Big Bite Junior REL, complete with the mark two series skip lifting arms. These were Jack Allen circus vehicles and were used to tour different regions of the UK as a marketing ploy to sell their Big Bite range. SUPPLIED BY TIMOTHY BYRNE

EDITOR'S VIEWPOINT www.skiphiremagazine.co.uk

IT'S hard to believe that we are actually embarking on another RWM event after what seems the fastest year ever. There's been loads of changes this year and we're all hoping that the 2018 version will be an event to remember for all the right reasons. As usual, we're delighted to be media partners and we'll be looking forward to personally welcoming visitors to our stand. If you haven't met us before feel free to pop over where the team and I will be available for a chat. This is my third RWM and as always there's a real buzz about the showpiece event. With uncertainty all around us in the shape of BREXIT, it's been a tough year for many in the sector and this is a great opportunity to move forward with a positive vibe. As always, we'll be out and about at the show covering the hot topics and seeing the new items on display. The great thing about RWM is the opportunity to meet new faces and discover new kit, and that's what we'll be doing. Look out for our special October edition, which will feature the best of the event and be the most comprehensive round-up of RWM '18.

I'm looking forward to two days of friendly conversation and I know that the entire team enjoys being at the NEC every September. There's a new, fresh look to the event and it will be interesting to see how all the positive changes made by the new RWM show organisers meet the approval of the many exhibitors from all over the globe. Once again, feel free to visit our stand during your visit to the event, where our full team will be ready to answer your questions. Who knows, we may even stump up for a beer or two! Have a great show - and make sure you come and say hello.
